General information

Characteristics of the location and project situation:

  • The property for the "Vila Suchdol" villa house is situated on the edge of the compact developed area of Suchdol, with land allotted in the firs half of the 20th century. The location is in the cadastral area of Suchdol, Prague 6, Suchdolská Street, near the intersection with Kamýcká Street. The lot is set between properties with two-story villas dating back to the era of the land allotment mentioned above.

Architectural solution in brief:

  • The residential building is designed as a harmonic, uniting element between the enclosed gardens and the nearby new structures of the Terasy Budovec residential development. Its frontage conforms to the rhythm and scale of the existing buildings with its protruding bays. Respecting the urban context, the mass of the residential building was designed with prominent two-story bays protruding towards the street, connected with the three-story mass. It breaks on the eastern side and leads to the garden, where it is gradually stepped down to a single story.
  • The entire facility is focused around a single traffic core, topped with a roof light. The individual receding levels create walk-on terraces. The appearance of the building is based on a traditional urban villa concept with elements of Mediterranean architecture, which are fully in line with today´s requirements for the quality of residential interiors given the higher temperatures during the summer.
  • The facade´s design is based on three shades - white, grey, and claret. The recessed clared mass structured with grey strips on the individual floors has lower protruding white bays with marked grey areas, in which wooden windows are set. The whole building is set on a prominent grey plinth.

Structural design:

  • The load-bearing system is designed as a transverse reinforced concrete structure with brick siding. The brick siding will be insulated using a contact system finished in a fine grain plaster. The roof is not intended for walking, and the balconies, terraces and loggias will be fitted with frost-resistant floor tiles. The stairwell will include a passenger elevator with a cabin sized to allow for transporting disabled people. The parking garage is situated in the cellar, as are lockable booths for the individual residental units.

Overall ground plan drawings of the house´s individual levels:

  • The drawings are a part of the project documents submitted to the authorities for approval as a part of the construction procedure. The design may be a little bit change during the subsequent phases.
